Biography:
Suran Song in Stag - (su-rahn song in stag)
Through rock n roll melodies and appealing live-action visual stimulii, mass-produced compact discs and videos, Suran Song in Stag make their offering.
William Weis (bass) and Suran Song (vocals/video) embrace the challenge of expanding ideas not in the broadest currency. They believe they are obligated to seduce the widest number of people possible into considering these ideas.
In doing so through well crafted melodies and performance art rock, Suran looks to her hometown Ann Arbor, MI heros in the likes of John Sinclair, Destroy All Monsters, and Rael Rean for inspiration. William Weis looks to how much one electric bass guitar and some analogue pedals can do to make a whole one man band.
Since 1997, the band has made 4 full length CD's, toured extensively, been featured on 9 different compilations from Atlanta to Los Angeles to Boston, released a 3 song EP, and a 7" single. The band has been featured and reviewed in publications such as The Village Voice, Magnet Magazine, and The Big Take Over, as well as numerous American music and arts papers.
